Let Me Read the Damn Patch Notes

Why I wanted to make DeadPatch

Game devs. They're wonderful creatures. They make wonderful worlds and things to do in them. But 90% of the time (made up statistic) they post terrible incomplete patch notes. When it comes to Deadlock there are so many undocumented changes as well.

This is why I wanted to make DeadPatch. I am sure like many of you out there I struggle to sit down and read. I am not neurotypical so I struggle worse than many. But if I cater my reading method and environment just right I don't seem to struggle anymore.

Making it easier to read

I worked hard to make this website easy to read and customizable. I used a hyperlegible font for all the text (yeah when researching fonts to make coding at work easier I came across this one) see here if interested in the font https://www.brailleinstitute.org/freefont/

Also, on the subject of readability, I also came across a cool paperlike filter that can enhance readability and reduce eyestrain even further. I am looking into trying to add a toggle for that on the website.

I use a magnetic paperlike screen cover on my iPad for reading and writing and it helps a lot for me.

What's on the site

Right now, Deadpatch has tier lists, patch notes, and voting for the upcoming heroes. And.. with the posting of this blog, a new blog feature.

I intend to have blog posts, build guides, and for fun type posts. If you're interested at all maybe bookmark the site. I don't mind if you just come here for the tier lists or patch notes tho.

Builds and community submissions

The builds will be some of my personal ones (I peaked E3 pre-mm patch). I am no Lightbringer but for the heroes I main my builds seem to work well even if they aren't the most optimized.

I will also try to have some of my Eternus friends submit builds and also I am considering taking community builds too so if you want your build featured that could be possible.

What's next

Anyway, the site just launched 4 days ago. There's plenty I want to add, but keeping with the theme of speed and readability always.
